Local Information

On and Around the Campus

Conference Venue

ISSAC 2017 will be held at the campus of TU Kaiserslautern. The tutorials will take place in room 208 of the Institute for Mathematics (Building 48). The conference will take place in the foyer as well as in the rooms 110 and 115 of the Audimax building (Building 42). A map of the campus can be find here.

Lunch Restaurants

The easiest way to get lunch is the Mensa, which is right across the building, where all talks take place. As a guest you can get lunch in the Atrium, which is located on the ground floor (cash only). Alternatively you can go to Unique, Pizzeria da Michele, or Sommerhaus. All three restaurants are in close walking distance. The menu for Atrium as well as Unique can be found here.

Travelling to Kaiserslautern

The city center of Kaiserslautern as well the main train station are within walking distance (about 1.5km) from the conference venue. Kaiserslautern is easily reachable by air and ground transportation.

Airport Transportation

From Frankfurt Airport, the campus is most easily reached using Deutsche Bahn (German Railway). It connects Frankfurt Airport with the city of Kaiserslautern in about 1.5 hours. The cost for a return ticket start at about 70 Euros, which does not take into account any special compensation.

Hotel Information

We recommend the B&B Hotel (≈ 50-70 Euro/night). The hotel is conveniently located next to the main train station, which is situated between the university and the city center. There are regular buses running between the main train station and the university. We have blocked rooms at the B&B. Please mention "Tagung Prof. Fieker" at the University of Kaiserslautern when booking your room.
